What information we collect
When you send an enquiry through the website, we may collect your name, email address, telephone number if you choose to provide it, the subject of your enquiry and the message you send us.
Our hosting and security providers may also process technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, browser or device information, request details and security logs.
We do not currently use the website to make automated decisions about you or to profile you for advertising.
Why we use your information
We use personal information to:
- receive, review and respond to enquiries;
- discuss puppies, stud dogs, breeding services, rehoming or other services you ask us about;
- take steps at your request before entering into a contract or transaction;
- keep appropriate records of our communications and any resulting relationship; and
- operate, secure and troubleshoot the website and Admin system.
Our lawful bases are normally our legitimate interests in responding to enquiries, operating and protecting our business and keeping appropriate records, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract where your enquiry may lead to a purchase or service.
Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We use a small number of service providers to operate the website and handle enquiries:
- Supabase provides the website database, authentication and storage used by the site and Admin system.
- Resend is used to send email notifications when a website enquiry is received.
- Cloudflare hosts and protects the website and may process technical request and security information.
- Google Maps is available on our Contact page but is not loaded automatically. If you choose “Load Google Map”, your browser connects to Google. Google may then receive technical information such as your IP address, browser or device details and referrer information, and may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
We may also disclose information where required by law or where it is necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal rights.
Cookies and similar technologies
We do not currently use advertising or analytics cookies on the House of Jacks website.
The embedded Google Map is blocked by default. It is only requested from Google after you select “Load Google Map”. You can use the address and directions links without loading the embedded map.
Our hosting and security providers may use technologies that are necessary to deliver, protect or operate the website.
International processing
Some of the technology providers we use operate internationally. Where personal information is processed outside the UK, we expect our providers to use appropriate safeguards required by UK data protection law, such as approved contractual protections where applicable.
How long we keep information
We keep enquiry information only for as long as it is reasonably needed to respond to you and manage any resulting relationship. We review records and remove information that is no longer required.
If an enquiry leads to a purchase, service, dispute or other ongoing matter, relevant records may be kept for longer where needed for accounting, legal, licensing, safeguarding or record-keeping obligations. The period depends on the nature of the relationship and any applicable legal requirement.
Your data protection rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data protection law may give you rights to ask for access to your personal information, to have inaccurate information corrected, to have information erased, to restrict or object to certain processing, and in some cases to receive information in a portable format.
To exercise a right, contact us using the details above. We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request.
You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how your personal information has been handled.
Visit the ICO website for information about making a data protection complaint.

Our website contains links to services operated by other organisations, including Google Maps, Apple Maps, WhatsApp, social media services and Trustap. If you follow those links, the other organisation will handle information under its own privacy policy.
